This is going to be a pretty significant amount of information with links to even more information. And while it would be tempting to push that information overload aside and think about it later, I urge you to resist that temptation. Please know that many people have been working very hard on your behalf behind the scenes to make these state tournaments experiences that your students will remember for a long time.
This information packet is mostly for the state debate championships and for the senior speech championships. However, some of the information, especially as it relates to parking will hold for all tournaments.
March 8 –
Registration is from 7:30 AM-8:30 AM in Memorial Hall
Opening Ceremony will be in Memorial Hall at 8:30 AM
Rounds begin at 9:00 AM
March 9 –
Awards Ceremony will be at 12:00 noon in the Kinkaid Auditorium (Gatton College)
For senior speech:
March 9 –
Registration is from 12:00 noon until 1:30 PM
Opening Ceremony will by in Memorial Hall at 2:00
Extemp Draw will be at 2:30 in Funkhouser Building (FB) 200
Rounds will be at 3:00 PM, 5:00PM and 7:00Pm
March 10 –
Rounds for quarterfinals will and some semifinals will begin at 8:00
Rounds will run approximately every 2 hours until all elimination rounds are complete.
Awards will be as soon as possible.
For a few other important items. We are still working with UK to determine exactly what food options will be available for our students. UK is still in session on Thursday and Friday, so any food areas/courts available to UK students would also be available to ours.
